However, the individual made an entirely other decision rather than using his money to make the payment.

Patrick thought, “Maybe he needed the money for something else.” His anxiety subsided because he was certain the man would use a credit card to make the payment. He would soon realize how mistaken he was.He felt sorry for him for a second. Perhaps he was accumulating debt in order to provide for his family, and all of these opulent things were merely a gift for them. The man took a card out of his wallet at that point. For those who are unaware, an electronic benefits card, or EBT card, is an electronic food stamp system that enables state welfare departments to provide benefits via a payment card. And the man was paying for all of his opulent possessions with this. Patrick yanked out his phone angrily, having had enough.
