Her Revenge
As she wiped the dirt from her hands, Sarah grinned menacingly. The air was heavy with a foul stench. She looked at the yard in front of her and felt content.
She was exacting retribution on her neighbor for taking advantage of her. This was no longer something he could get away with. Now she just needed to wait.

Her Revenge
He Refused To Stop
Sarah Jacobs had had enough. She watched helplessly as one of her neighbors destroyed her yard over several weeks. Occasionally, she caught sight of the man. After jumping over the fence and into one of her flowerbeds, he would go out into the street. He was taking a shortcut via her yard. He has often been ordered to cease, but he has refused. She had had enough of being kind.

He Refused To Stop
Watching Closely
She stood in front of the glass, her gaze never leaving the yard. She had been keeping a careful eye on the man’s schedule for the past few weeks. He would jump over the fence at any time if everything went as planned. She had carefully planned this, so she couldn’t wait. She was finally going to give him a lesson today.

Watching Closely
She Couldn’t Wait
She sipped deeply from her steamy cup of coffee. She was unable to wait any longer. This man was going to pay a price for mistreating her yard whenever it suited him. When she noticed activity across the fence, her eyebrows sprang up. Like every other morning, she watched as the man threw his bag into her yard. However, it fell directly into her trap this time.

She Couldn’t Wait
Into Her Yard
She grinned as she saw the next man lift himself over the barrier. Then he fell into her flowerbed, as he did every other day. This time he landed in the repulsive material instead of the soft, luxuriant bushes of flowers that always greeted him. She could see the look of surprise on his face from where she stood. Then she heard it.

Into Her Yard
According To Plan
Her house was filled with the sound of the man’s scream. The older woman smiled, set her cup down on a nearby counter, and walked over to the door. She was going to laugh in his face because he had been getting away with this for far too long. He had fallen right into her trap.

According To Plan
A Quiet Life
Ex-Marine, Sarah Jacobs, was living her best life in Phoenix, Arizona. Having retired just a few months prior, she was enjoying a quiet life in the suburbs. Although she hadn’t been there for long, her neighbors made her feel right at home. But there was one neighbor that got on her nerves. His name was Nikolas, and he had no respect for her boundaries.

A Quiet Life
The Neighbor
There was one thing that Nikolas and Sarah did not seem to agree on, and Nikolas’s house was just behind Sarah’s. Nikolas had to ride the bus into town every morning. He would have to walk around the block to reach the bus station. However, he had found that Sarah’s yard was a shortcut. In this manner, he would save his travel time by around 10 minutes.

The Neighbor
Her Flowerbeds
However, there was one obvious issue. He would fall in one of Sarah’s flowerbeds every time he leaped the fence to enter her yard. This eventually ruined the flowers she had cultivated. He didn’t appear to care that she had discussed this issue with him.

Her Flowerbeds
Monday Morning
The morning was Monday. Sarah was making a pot of coffee after waking up. She looked out her window into her yard as she made her way to the sink. She caught Nikolas in the act at that very moment. A moment after throwing his suitcase over the barrier, he sprang over it as well.

Monday Morning
Boundaries
Sarah’s eyes narrowed as she observed. The day before, she had addressed him about this, but her concerns were ignored. He had no interest in honoring her limits.
She saw the man go past her yard with a hand on her hip. She was enraged because the flower bush he had leaped into had been trampled. He didn’t know who he was playing with.

Boundaries
Hands-On
Sarah had become accustomed to using a more hands-on approach to problem-solving as an ex-marine. She had already requested the man to stop, but he had not paid attention. If it was her final act, she was going to exact revenge. Planning her next move, she stood still in front of the window. She understood exactly what she needed to do, but it took some time.

Hands On
Her Plan
While Nikolas was away at work that afternoon, Sarah started implementing her plan. She would punish him if he refused to honor her demands on his own. The elderly woman got into her car and drove to the closest nursery shortly after midday. She had come up with the ideal plan to exact revenge on her annoying neighbor.

Her Plan
The Store
Sarah found exactly what she was looking for in no more than ten minutes. Before returning home, she asked two male staff to assist her in carrying the goods to her car. She needed to work quickly. She did not want Nikolas to have any suspicions. However, she was eager to watch how he would respond once he fell into her trap. As she drove home, she couldn’t quit grinning.

The Store
Getting To Work
She entered the garden as soon as she got back from the store. She went into the garden wearing rubber boots and thick gloves. She pulled the two bulky bags along. She began by cutting them open and applying rich compost to the plants and soil. She knew it would be worthwhile despite the overpowering fragrance.

Getting To Work
Both Bags
She made the decision to empty both bags into the tiny flowerbed that her neighbor had been mistreating for a long time. She pondered whether her small trick would be sufficient to stop him from destroying her flowers. When a heavy layer of compost coated the ground, the elderly woman reached for a hosepipe.

Both Bags
Muddy
She moistened the compost for the next half hour. She wanted to make sure it was filthy and drenched. Her goal was to make the man’s entire day miserable. It stank, but that’s what she was aiming for.

Muddy
Not Alone
Sarah didn’t realize that someone else had been observing her since she opened the compost bags while she completed her unpleasant task. To put it mildly, it was incriminating. However, this person was reluctant to expose her. They had much darker plans than that. The veteran wouldn’t anticipate it.

Not Alone
A Funny Feeling
Fortunately, Sara’s heightened senses from her time in the military were not entirely blunted. It was as if she had a sixth sense. She sensed that something wasn’t right. She turned quickly and peered out into the yard. The smell was being carried away from her house by the increasing wind. She was wrong to believe that it was a benefit.

A Funny Feeling
A Problem
Sarah had no idea that she had caused an issue. Her only desire was to exact revenge on her neighbor. However, she would now have to cope with an unexpected issue before she could accomplish it. the gaze darted around the yard, making her anxious. Even though she didn’t see anything, she was wise enough to remain vigilant.

A Problem
Watching Her
From a safe distance, two bulbous eyes were observing Sarah. It was ruthless and cunning. The intelligence of the monster observing Sarah was underestimated by many. When the time came, would she undervalue it? There was only one reason the nearly extraterrestrial figure had visited Sarah’s property. It was all due to her retaliation.

Watching Her
Attracted To The Smell
The scent of the compost that Sarah had placed for her neighbor drew the critter in. She had no idea that it would backfire in the most terrible way. The thing was watching Sarah, waiting for her to turn away, like in a game of chicken. Even though she was unsure of the source of the strike, the veteran didn’t want to leave herself vulnerable.

Attracted To The Smell
Getting Impatient
As it observed Sarah, the beast became eager for its next meal. It made the decision to move its leathery body from branch to branch as it edged closer. A food supply was the only thing on its mind. By coincidence, Sarah was the ideal person to feed it. It breathed more quickly the closer it got to her. It was licking its mouth.

Getting Impatient
Getting Ready To Pounce
As it prepared for the ideal attack, the animal steadied its body. This predator had discovered prey like this hundreds of times before. The veteran felt she was in imminent danger, and her senses were tingling. She was still unsure of the location, though. Could she possibly save herself?

Getting Ready To Pounce
A Out The Corner Of Her Eye
Sarah braced herself for an assault, tensing every muscle in her body. However, she noticed movement out of the corner of her eye at that moment.
She could protect herself now that she was aware of the source of the threat. The brown fur darted across the grass, heading straight for the compost. Her actions were driven only by instinct and adrenaline.

A Out The Corner Of Her Eye
Getting A Better Look
Sarah ran over to the thing. Before taking any action, she wanted to have a closer look. Out of muscle memory from her previous training days, her body moved. She severed the creature’s limbs and gave it a fierce face. She was finally close enough to recognize what it was at that point. However, it was not at all what she had anticipated.

Getting A Better Look
A Rodent
When Sarah moved between the animal and the compost pile, it froze. She looked down at it, but as soon as she recognized it, she exhaled deeply. It wasn’t precisely the danger she had expected. Perhaps all of her senses were malfunctioning. Her instincts could not have alerted her about the brown rat in front of her. However, she heard a sound from her left as she attempted to make sense of the circumstances.

A Rodent
The Real Threat
Sarah detected a disturbance to her left and instantly went back on the defensive. It was subtle, but because she had served in the military, she understood what to look out for. I was the sound of a leaf-moving object. It wasn’t walking on it, though. They felt as though something was being pulled across them. Her expression turned horrified as she prepared to confront the true danger.

The Real Threat
Learning What It Was
The veteran was returned to one of her deployments. She recalled searching for mines and other IEDs while stalking through the desert. On her patrol, however, she discovered something unexpected. It was very poisonous, long, and scaly. She had no idea that it would set her up for anything years later.

Learning What It Was
Snapping Back
Sarah returned to the present and knew how to deal with her threat right away. She recalled her previous encounter with the fanged thing. A low hiss caught her attention just as she was getting ready. It occurred a second later. From a nearby shrub, the snake shot itself in Sarah’s direction. She braced herself for the worst.

Snapping Back
Slinking Away
When Sarah realized the snake wasn’t pursuing her, she was prepared to protect herself. The rat was the target. It just made it out of a gap in her fence. The snake slithered away, defeated. Sarah didn’t know where it went, but she wasn’t going to wait to find out. Later on, though, it would cause problems for her revenge scheme. It appeared that other people could detect the scent of the compost Sarah had applied to her garden.

Slinking Away
Not The Type
Although Sarah had never been the kind to play practical jokes on people, she thought the impolite man deserved it. Her flowerbeds had been ruined by him. Sarah was losing out on happiness because of the man’s indolence. To get him to listen to her, she was doing whatever it took. Would her little trick, nonetheless, be successful?

Not The Type
Strong Smell
As she wiped the dirt from her hands, Sarah grinned menacingly. The air was heavy with a foul stench. She looked at the yard in front of her and felt content. She was exacting retribution on her neighbor for taking advantage of her. This would no longer be acceptable to them. Now she just needed to wait.

Strong Smell
Cleaning Up
After finishing, she threw the empty plastic bags in the trash and went inside to freshen herself. She didn’t care that the foul stench had permeated her house. After shutting most of her back windows, she had a long shower to rid her body of the dirt and tension. She was eager for morning. Nikolas was going to suffer the consequences of his actions.

Cleaning Up
Anticipation
She rolled around in bed all night. She hardly got any sleep since she was so eager for the morning to arrive. However, daylight soon flooded her bedroom. When she looked at the time, she immediately got up. Every morning at precisely 7:30, he would hop over the fence. Her setup time was limited to a few minutes. She hurried to the kitchen and brewed a cup of coffee for herself.

Anticipation
Watching
She stood in front of the window beside the sink, her gaze never leaving the yard. She had been keeping a careful eye on Nikolas’ itinerary for the past few weeks. He would jump over the fence at any time if everything went as planned. She had carefully planned this, so she couldn’t wait. She was finally going to give him a lesson today.

Watching
Movement
She sipped deeply from her steamy cup of coffee. She was unable to wait any longer. This man was going to pay a price for mistreating her yard whenever it suited him. When she noticed activity across the fence, her eyebrows sprang up. Like every other morning, she watched as Nikolas threw his bag into her yard. However, it fell directly into her trap this time.

Movement
It Was Ruined
She had to put her hand over her lips to contain her laughter. Both the bag and its contents had fallen far into the compost. Everything was destroyed. Sarah glanced at what was happening in front of her eyes and muttered an eager “Yes!” beneath her breath. Everything was proceeding as planned.

It Was Ruined
A Smirk
She grinned as she saw him lift himself over the fence next. Then he fell into her flower bed, as he did every other day. This time he landed in the repulsive material instead of the soft, luxuriant bushes of flowers that always greeted him. She could see the look of surprise on his face from where she stood. Then she heard it.

A Smirk
Going Outside
His scream reverberated into the house from the tiny yard. The older woman smiled, set her cup down on a nearby counter, and walked over to the door. She was going to laugh in his face because he had been getting away with this for far too long. He had fallen right into her trap.

Going Outside
Another Reason For His Scream
Sarah knew he had screamed for a different cause as she readied herself to go outside. It was the snake from before, and she saw it return to the bushes. The man appeared to frighten the snake just as much, and it bolted away. It couldn’t have been better arranged by her. He received the scare of his life in addition to being covered in compost.

Another Reason For His Scream
There He Was
She could see Nikolas in the dense, muddy material as she stepped outside. It covered his face, hair, and clothing. “No! What is this? He shouted. He slipped and fell back in as he attempted to stand up. He glanced up at her as she leaned against a nearby wall and saw her smirk. He was enraged.

There He Was
Furious
“Nik, how are things going? She scoffed, “Looks like you’re in a bit of a sticky situation.” The man’s expression was priceless. He went up and retrieved his belongings from the compost, furious. He chose to leap back to his yard since he was too furious to say anything. She cried out, “Hey Nik,” before he could respond.

Furious
Next Time
He gazed at the elder woman, peering over her shoulder. “You understand that the next time you take a shortcut through my yard, you’ll end up in a lot worse than a little compost?” He pulled himself back over the fence after giving a nod. For days afterward, Sarah’s smile persisted. She was extremely happy with what she had accomplished.

Next Time
It Worked
Fortunately, her small trick was successful. Nikolas never again attempted to take a shortcut through her yard. Rather, he made the ten-minute walk through their neighborhood. As she had asked. With all of the compost, her flower bed recovered very quickly. Her small issue was finally resolved.

It Worked
